Chris' Letter 01/16/2011

so guess what? WE GOT A BAPTISM yesterday! woohoo his name is gong jong dong. and he is 24 years old really cool! it was really amazing i have taugght him this whole transfer! and he has been taught a lot before that. but he finally got baptized! it waas so great! :D anyways how is everyone?  yesterday was the coldest day in 10 years it was like like -1 fareinheight at 1pm yesterday and it only got worse. it was soooooo freaking cold but this cold does miracles. it is really good! today i will prob buy another suit at this place so that will be cool.i get a new comp in like 9 days, some days are good and some arent with my comp but its alright we work it out somehow. this next week we have 2 baptisms on saturday and 3 confirmations on sunday! wooo 3 new members and that will be 4 new memebers in the past like month and a half! this transfer is almost over i really cant believe it, and i cant beleive everyone is getting married and stuff and that justin and jordan go home next transfer! justin will be on the plane with my trainer haha! anyways lets see we have planned for a really big week this week, with the baptisms we have a lot of chances to introduce new people to the amazing gospel of Jesus Christ! ah its awesome i love it! i found out yesterday that Elder Cook will come on a mission tour here, i love being in the presense of Gods living Apostles! ah i cant wait! i bet its been cold at home! i was reading some things from people and i want to share something that was really good from Sam! he said, i will paraprhase "i dont think lehi wanted to go into the wilderness, but he did because the Lord told him to so he just rolled with the punches. i dont think Nephi wanted to go get the plates because it was dangerous, but he did because the Lord told him to, he just rolled with the Punches. its the same case with us, we just need to do what the Lord asks of us and Roll with the punches of life that come on us. if we do we will recieve blessings like no other." i can testify of that, cause there are days that are hard, but the things i learn during those days are so amazing! i am grateful for my Savior! i hope yall are too! roll with the punches of life, but more importantly DO IT WITH FAITH! Be grateful God is letting you struggle cause you will be better for it! i love it! well have a good week! i love yall!

Chris' Letter 01/24/2011

so we had planned saturday for two baptisms but only one happened but its ok another person made a promise with Heavenly Father! The person who got baptised was the one we didnt think would, the whole week she didnt text us back and stuff and yeah. it was really sketchy so we didnt know if it would happen. We texted her on friday night for one last attempt to get a hold of her, and said are you going to be at the church tomorrow for your interview or not? and she said yes. so we were like.. ok so you will be there? yes was her reply! she got baptized! it was soooo amazingly awesome, i really felt a releived feeling after she got baptized, and that feeling continued when i stood in the circle to give her the best gift ever, The Gift of the Holy Ghost! ah so amazing! Steven also got confirmed and Recieved the Holy Ghost! it was great, the girls name is Nam hey Ree, she is 19 and she is a recent converts sister, he got baptized like almost 2 years ago! but yeah it was great she had a special light to her on sunday and she was completely happier and different, it was GREAT! my new companion will be another korean, he wont be trunky so that will be good hah! his name is Lee Won Gi or 이원기, IT WILL BE AN AWESOME TRANSFER! full of sucess and awesomeness! its gonna be great!! ummm it snowed yesterday proabably about 7 inches in 4 hours, we walked to a members for dinner and i literally was a snow man, covered in snow! it was so greeatt! haha umm yeah i have to get my haircut today its annoying and yeah it will look alot better! ah so  i was reading in Alma 57 again, i read it like everyday, its the story of the 2060 strippling warriors, i dont know why people say the 2000 strippling warriors, there are 2060! anyways yeah it talks about how they fought the Lamanites, being outnumbered by many but these 2060 young men, fought and none perished, they delivered death to all those who opposed them. I thought that we are the chosen generation, so therefore WE are modern day armies of Helamen! They followed everything with exactness and because of there faith none perished. i want to have faith like them! I thought though as i was re reading and pondering the last conference talks and president eyrings talk titled " trust God, then go and do it" we need to trust him! in vs 27 i beleive of chapter 57 of alma it talks about the trust these youngmen had! ah its great! i love that story! I hope that we can all have that trust and faith because if we do, we will not perish! This work really is a miracle!! OH and FEb 19th in like 3 and a half weeks Elder Cook from the 12 is coming for mission conference! ITs gonna be great! But yeah nothing to speicall has happened besides the Amazing things that happened this past week! Im glad to hear about home and stuff, i wish yall could meet the people i work with and serve, so amazing! Next week i can write emails and shop on monday but letters will be late because Solar is next wednesday, its like the chinese new year, ask sheila or the neihboors she can tell you all about it, but EVERYTHIING closes and yeah! real big day! so yeah that is our pday , so ill email monday but write letters and stuff wednesday so yeah! i hope yall have a good week! Trust and have unshakeable faith in the Lord!
